2. To give participants an understanding of business and entrepreneurship from the Christian point of view.

Delivered either in 2 modules of 3 hrs each or 4 modules of 1hr 30 minutes, the program seeks to answer the questions:

• How do I start my own business?

• Providing adult group mentors to guide the groups (where the audience is a young audience) for better effectiveness.
• Transportation and accommodation for facilitator if sessions are outside Lagos.

Methodology

• The facilitation methods are based on the principles of active learning

• Furthermore, for better impact, participants are urged to work together in groups and for better impact, assigned learning partners from within their group.

Additional suggestions for transferring these skills to ‘real’ life

1. Where possible, invite volunteers to speak at different sessions on particular types of businesses – e.g. online business, crafts, service businesses, farming/agric based businesses, etc.
2. It is strongly recommended that at the end of the sessions, each group be required to select a business project which they will execute for profit. This offers a safe, practical way to test and build the skills needed for successful entrepreneurship.
3. Where possible, we recommend the selection of senior members of the congregation, themselves successful entrepreneurs who will volunteer to provide guidance and support through the formation and commencement of group business projects. These projects can serve as a means for earning income and keeping youth gainfully occupied.
4. In addition, there are opportunities for the exchange of ideas and learning with other youth initiatives from all over the world available online.

If you wish to have this program run at your youth group or church, please contact us by email or phone at least 1 month ahead to schedule. We would be honored to have the opportunity to speak with your group.
